it’s friday, it’s going to be a beautiful day and i’m sick of working. this week has been long and drawn out. it was one of those weeks where you know you did stuff that occupied your time but they couldn’t have been important because you can’t remember anything about what you did. i have no idea how i can spend most of a week doing things I can’t remember.

i do know what i did last night though.
kt and i watched “so you think you can dance”.
every time i watch that show, i revisit my longtime dream of becoming a back-ground dancer for some R&B or Soul artist. but i know i couldn’t keep up. i was a little sad when the show ended because it was like my dream had come to a close.

just when i thought there would never be a place for me to dance, the pilot for “swingtown” came on. apparently the 70s were full of bad dancers! there was a scene at a party where they kept showing people dancing and they were terrible. so i hopped up, started learning the routine and sure enough, i found my style of dance.

*****DISCLAIMER: i think “swingtown” is a ridiculous show about ridiculous things.*****

the 70s dance routine is a simple 5 count repeated over and over. here’s a diagram:

i have to warn you… it may look simple but it’s really not. many a dancer have been injured while attempting this. so make sure you stretch.
